Annotation Type Development

This page is a starting point for developing classes of Annotation for use within the Open Annotation Data Model. To start a new type of Annotation, please add an entry to a new page in the list below. If there are many such classes, please create a new section for them.

The page describing the new type should list at least the following:

  • Name
  • Purpose, including:
    • Situations in which the type of annotation would be useful
  • Use Case, Example
  • Class identifier (eg eg:ExampleAnnotation)
  • Any required properties and relationships
  • Links to referenced external standards and/or formats

It should also contain a link back to this page for ease of navigation.
